From Forrest Stone

My intense memories with Sterett were his playing the mandolin and one night the two of us walking back to the Yard sauced – bourbon, I think – along either side of the Common, singing in an attempt at harmony – really loud – we were on either side of the Common, probably three hundred yards apart! But we had to sing that loud to try the harmony. Dave Price heard us. I forget whether Jimmy did. And of course who could ever forget Sterett’s wonderful way of sort of cocking back before making, with a smile, an outrageous statement?
